MYE Mission Statement
The Metro Youth Encounter program is a year-long, cultural immersion, and leadership development program for youth of the Metropolitan Detroit Area.
Details on the program
Metro Youth Encounter begins in the Spring each year with an online class for adult youthworkers interested in connecting their youth with an opportunity to develop as leaders. Then, the year-long experience begins for those youth and their leaders with a Fall retreat and ends with a mission trip the following summer.
After the initial retreat, youth will meet to explore topics of faith, service, mission, justice, and community in high impact, hands-on ways. These gatherings will take the form of immersion days in the city, overnights around the state and beyond, and gatherings in their own part of the Metro Detroit area to practice leading local youth ministries amongst their own social networks!
