Motown Mission Experience
This year we will be welcoming 5 groups for two weeks of mission work in the City of Detroit. Sign up now for Motown 2010! $250/participant and we take care of housing, food, work projects, evening activities including a Tigers game (when they're in town), and devotions led my Detroit UM ministry leaders and local artists. Metro Youth Encounter/Wesleyan Youth and Young Adult Ministry Dojo!
We are revamping our MYE program with the addition of our online class for adults who work with youth our young adults. Join us for this class beginning June 1. Register at BeADisciple.com. Out of this class we'll be looking to put together groups of adults and youth who will participate in a year of leadership development and ministry visioning to help you create the best possible youth and young adult ministry for your context.
Transforming Leaders
This Summer we will welcome 6 new TL interns to live in intentional community in Detroit, and work at various ministry internships for 8 weeks. Once a week we also provide a ministry discernment day to help these college students explore their own call into life-long Christian ministry. If you, your church, or Sunday School class would be interested in providing a meal for this house of young missionaries this summer, please email me at info(at)youngleadersinitiative.org.
Detroit Villages & The Emergedetroit.org Network
Over the past 6 months we have been busy stitching together a new network of intentional community houses across the City of Detroit. These missional communities covenant together to be in ministry with their neighbors. We also meet monthly to covenant together as a network of houses to support and complement one another in this effort to expand and celebrate Christ's presence in the City.
