CATALYST @ Wayne State
Catalyst is a new United Methodist sponsored campus ministry at Wayne State University picking up where our previous Wesley Foundation at WSU left off.
Each year the program consists of two phases. In phase one, a group of WSU student leaders meets together weekly to learn about Detroit and the mission of the church here. Guests from Detroit non-profits and churches will join us to share their experience of the city. The group also donates time to many of these non-profits to get a full picture of what they're all about. In phase two, Catalyst students put what they've learned into action. Each student is given $100 to start a missional project of their own or to help an existing service/ministry. Students will also be guided on ways to multiply this money to make an even larger impact. These projects will aim to serve the city, the campus, or both.
