This week, Motown Mission launches its 10th year of hosting youth mission teams for "economic disaster recovery work" in the City of Detroit. We want to take a minute to thank Metro UMC for hosting us - even as we've grown from 7 participants to 700! We want to thank Birmingham First UMC for launching Motown Mission as a one week middle school trip and then sending the program on to grow into what it is today. We want to thanks all our amazing partner orgs who've put together weeks and weeks of work for our volunteers. We want to thank all the Detroit neighbors who have greeted our volunteers warmly, made coney dogs for them, and put up with our amateur paint jobs.
If you are in the vicinity of Birmingham First UMC on July 20th, 2014 we invite you to come and celebrate some of the best moments of the last 10 years and to say thanks to the folks that helped launch this important ministry. We'll be presenting some pictures and stories, and there may even be cupcakes. Thanks all, and thanks to God who makes all things possible. Sincerely, The Motown Mission Team Comments are closed.
